From June 1st to 3rd, the delegation headed by H.E. Mr. Nerses Yeritsyan, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia visited Arab Republic of Egypt at the invitation of Egyptian investment company “ARTOC group”.
During the trip H.E. Mr. Nerses Yeritsyan had meetings with H.E. Mr. Ahmad Nazif, Prime-Minister, of Egypt, H.E. Mr. Tarek Kamel, Communication and Information Technologies Minister, H.E. Mrs. Faiza Abul Naga, Minister of International Cooperation, and H.E. Abd al-Azim al-Wazir, the Governor of Cairo.
During the meeting with H.E. Mr. Ahmad Nazif, Yeritsyan stressed the importance of broadening and deepening of Armenian–Egyptian economic cooperation, expansion of trade turnover scope, design and implementation of joint investment projects. He also touched upon the fields of mutual interest, such as, communication and IT, education, pharmaceutical, medicine, and others.
In his turn, Ahmad Nazif emphasized that there is a large potential and readiness for dynamic development of Armenian - Egyptian economic relations. He especially marked out the opportunities in communication and information technologies sector.
The parties referred also to the organizational issues related to the upcoming Armenian –Egyptian intergovernmental committee meeting, which will be held, in September or October, 2010 in Yerevan.
